JUST English Department Announces Admission Circular for MA Programs
JUST, 12 January, 2026
The Department of English at Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has announced its admission circular for full-time Master of Arts (MA) programs for the academic session 2024–2025. Eligible candidates are invited to apply for a total of 60 seats across two postgraduate programs.
According to the circular, the department is offering 30 seats in MA in English Literature and 30 seats in MA in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching (ELT). Applicants must hold a four-year BA (Honours) degree in English from a recognized university. A minimum CGPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale is required, although this condition does not apply to JUST graduates. Graduates from the academic sessions 2018–2019, 2019–2020, and 2020–2021 are eligible to apply. However, only JUST graduates of the 2020–2021 session may apply using an Appeared Certificate, which must be replaced by the final certificate within two weeks of the publication of undergraduate final results.
The admission process includes both written and oral examinations. Candidates from outside JUST are required to sit for both tests, while JUST graduates will be exempted from the written examination and must appear only in the oral test. The written test will assess candidates’ proficiency in English language, literature, and linguistics through short-answer questions.
The application form can be downloaded from the Department of English notice board on the official website (https://eng.just.edu.bd/noticeboard). Applicants must submit the completed form along with attested photocopies of all academic certificates and transcripts, two recent passport-size color photographs, and the bank payment receipt. A non-refundable application fee of BDT 1,000 must be deposited to the Department of English account at Agrani Bank PLC, JUST Branch, Jashore.
The application submission period will run from 25 January to 26 February 2026. The written admission test is scheduled for 28 February 2026 at 10:00 AM, with a duration of one hour. Both the written test results and the oral test, along with the final results, will be published on the same day. Selected candidates will complete admission formalities between 01 and 07 March 2026, and classes are set to commence on 08 March 2026.
The Department has cautioned that incomplete, illegible, or falsified applications will be rejected without notice. The Academic Committee also reserves the right to amend or modify any part of the admission criteria or schedule if necessary.
